The Senior Design Manager plays a key role in driving the customer journey and front-end experience of the Miele digital platforms. They will ensure quality by providing design direction, and mentorship to the design team. And will ensure smooth UX planning from discovery to delivery. They will be part of the Digital UX/UI team whose mission is to create a premium digital shopping experience that converts and creates loyal customers.
We are looking for a UX/UI advocate and is passionate about creating experiences that provide both brand engagement and seamless shopping. They have experience managing design teams and their workflows. They are proactive and can give guidance in day-to-day design decision making.
Your responsibilities
- Drive and design the UX/UI vision for your domain of the Miele eCommerce experience that inspires and enables the UX/UI team. Help to translate this to the teams delivering the vision in an iterative way to continuously optimise the ecommerce platforms to create best in class digital experiences.
- Provide design direction and UX inputs to the team of designers and nurture culture of collaboration and innovation. Supporting an Agile way of working with self-steering teams, where you advocate empowerment.
- Build strong relationships with key roles such as: product managers, IT & content to ensure together that projects are being delivered. Support the UX/UI designers in effectively managing the designs requests with the best quality.
- Integrate Design Thinking activities to best understand the customer’s decision-making process. Study both qualitative and quantitative data and provide design insight. You continuously make sure you are up to date on the key design developments within the industry and evangelize this throughout the organization.
- Continuously look for ways to work more effectively across design disciplines in the Agile way of working to foster an environment that deliveries and realises impact in a collaborative way.
Your profile
- Ideally university degree in Design, Technology, Marketing, or have similar experience within a related field.
- 10+ years’ experience in UX/UI design.
- Experience managing design teams.
- Foundational experience working for a premium brand in consumer or FMCG industry.
- Have a collaborative team spirit and always striving to learn new things.
- Experienced in agile ways of working with self-steering teams.o learn new things.
- International mindset, and fluent business English.
- Deep understanding of new software/web technologies.
